- Leave the Bandage On
Your artist will cover your tattoo with a bandage or wrap after your session. Leave it on for at least 2-4 hours to protect the area from bacteria and allow the skin to begin healing.
- Gently Wash the Tattoo
Once you remove the bandage, gently wash your tattoo with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid scrubbing; use your hands to lightly cleanse the area. Pat dry with a clean paper towel—never rub.
- Apply a Thin Layer of Ointment
After washing, apply a thin layer of tattoo-specific ointment or unscented moisturizer. Avoid heavy lotions, as they can clog pores. Repeat this 2-3 times a day for the first few days.
